Why We do - What We Do
EmpowerAbles for Kids is driven by a simple belief: every child, regardless of ability, deserves the chance to play, learn, and truly shine. It’s heartbreaking to see that young people with disabilities often encounter obstacles when trying to participate in sports, gain hands-on job skills, or even access quality care that gives them a break. These barriers don’t just limit their opportunities; they can also affect their confidence, their ability to become independent, and their sense of belonging.
That’s why we’re here – to change things for the better.
What We Do
- 🏀 Adaptive Sports: We offer safe and welcoming activities where kids can build teamwork skills, get active, and experience the pure joy of playing together.
- 🛠️ Vocational Training: We teach practical skills that foster independence and prepare young people for future job opportunities.
- 💖 Respite Care: We provide enriching and engaging activities for children, while also giving their caregivers the much-needed support and relief they deserve.
The Urgent Need
As a new organization, our most immediate need is to secure the essential equipment and supplies that make our programs possible. Things like adaptive balls, balance beams, cooking starter kits, and sensory tools might seem simple, but they create real, tangible opportunities for children with disabilities to fully participate and thrive. These aren’t one-time use items; they are investments that will benefit child after child for years to come.
Our Promise: The Impact You'll Make
- Breaking down the barriers that prevent children from participating in sports and skill-building programs.
- Creating inclusive environments where kids can build confidence, make friends, and develop a strong sense of belonging.
- Providing young people with the tools they need to grow more independent and prepare for adulthood.
- Offering respite care that strengthens families and our entire community.
Every contribution, whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly donation, directly transforms the lives of children with disabilities by turning possibilities into realities. Together, we can make sure every child has the chance to proudly say, “I can!”
